Right now my recent literary output consists of several articles I have written for FANZINE, an online literary magazine.

Click on my FANZINE page or the sidebar link to read some of my articles. I’m writing a multi-part series on my horse breeding experiences (working on Part 4) and also wrote about last year’s Triple Crown.

I eventually plan to post some of my job-related essays (or portions of them) that I’ve been meaning to get published since the turn of the century. I plan to call the book either Little Man, What Now? or Barbaric, Mystical, and Bored.

The former title comes from the 1934 Hans Fallada book of the same name, which I highly recommend (although the paperback version is out of print apparently):

The latter comes from the chapter “Barbaric, Mystical, Bored” in Gunter Grass’s novel The Tin Drum.

Several years ago I used it as the title of an essay and thought, “I am such a genius to have thunk up that title!”

Then I picked up my paperback copy of the book, which I had left at my parents’ house after college graduation, paged through it, and was humbled.

I recommend it as well:
