ECT News split from Newsfactor Network in 2003. I wrote for several publications on the site, particularly its flagship publication The E-Commerce Times and its enterprise publication CRMBuyer.
I was hired as a full-time editor in 2004 so that I could oversee the launch of MacNewsWorld, which looked at Apple and its solutions from a business perspective. I also edited CRMBuyer, where I revised its slant to focus on enterprise decision makers rather than vendors.
At the time I seemed like a weird fit with my concurrent interests in all things Mac and CRM and other enterprise solutions, but with the advent of Web 2.0 and the iPhone’s SDK (along with NetSuite’s 2007 release of Suite Phone, which provides users with CRM and business management functionality via the iPhone), perhaps I was more prescient than I realized.
